The late Legendary Kentucky Kid, Nicky Hayden will be honored in his hometown of Owensboro, Kentucky on June 8th, 2018. Forever memorialized with the unveiling of a sculpture in his tribute. The Nicky Hayden Statue was created by George Lundeen of Colorado. It thematically captures the 2006 MotoGP World Champion’s victory lap after he earned the title of World Champion in Monterey, CA at the famed Laguna Seca Raceway.

Rendered in bronze, Hayden’s likeness will hold a real American flag. It will be unveiled at 5.30 pm on the front lawn of the Owensboro Convention Center. During the unveiling of the memorial statue, Owensboro Mayor Tom Watson will read a proclamation declaring June 9th (6/9) as Nicky Hayden Day.
