Ducati pays homage to Ayrton Senna with the release of the Ducati Monster Senna, a collector’s limited edition motorcycle that celebrates the legendary Formula 1 driver and his enduring legacy. The Ducati Monster Senna is a unique tribute, with only 341 units produced, each representing the three World Titles Senna won and the 41 Grands Prix he finished at the top of the podium. This special edition salutes Senna’s passion for motorcycling and his connection with Ducati.
The Ducati Monster Senna stands out with its exclusive livery, designed by Centro Stile Ducati in collaboration with Senna Brands. The design is inspired by the iconic colors of Senna’s helmet, featuring striking elements of yellow, green, and blue, reminiscent of the Brazilian flag. This unique color scheme pays tribute to Senna’s heritage and enhances the bike’s visual appeal.
The Ducati Monster Senna employs high-performance components that enhance its sportiness and dynamic qualities. It features the reliable and robust 937cc Testastretta 11° engine, delivering 111 horsepower and 93-foot pounds of torque. Inspired by Ducati Superbikes, the bike’s chassis is coupled with fully adjustable Öhlins suspension, forged aluminum wheels, and a sophisticated Brembo braking system with Stylema calipers painted in yellow. These elements, along with the Termignoni homologated carbon fiber silencers, contribute to the bike’s lightweight build and exceptional performance on the road.
Take note of the distinctive details, such as the yellow/green/blue tag on the black rims, the special seat, and the dedicated dashboard animation that greets the rider upon ignition. Each Ducati Monster Senna is made unique by a plaque on the triple clamp indicating the model name and number, along with a certificate of authenticity and a dedicated motorcycle cover.
The Ducati Monster Senna was unveiled at the Formula 1 Grand Prix at Imola, with the presentation taking place in the paddock of the Enzo and Dino Ferrari racetrack. The event was attended by Claudio Domenicali (Ducati CEO), Bianca Senna (Senna Brands CEO), and Stefano Domenicali (Formula 1 President and CEO), who all spoke about the deep connection between Senna and Ducati. This collaboration began in 1990 when Senna received a Ducati 851 SP from Claudio Castiglioni, the then-owner of Ducati, and continued with the creation of the iconic Ducati 916 Senna.
The Ducati Monster Senna is a modern reinterpretation of the original Monster concept, designed to bring fun and excitement to the riding experience. Its advanced electronics include a 4.3-inch color TFT display, riding modes, ABS Cornering, DTC, DWC, and Launch Control, all calibrated to benefit from the bike’s new chassis. Features such as the lithium-ion battery, full LED lighting system, and Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tires enhance the motorcycle’s performance.
