Aston Martin and Brough Superior have revealed the AMB 002 Roadster, the partnership’s first road-legal motorcycle after two track-only superbikes. Production is strictly limited to 300 units, with first deliveries scheduled for Q3 2027. Initial orders are open now for the hand-built run.
Thierry Henriette, President of Brough Superior Motorcycles, described the ride itself in almost aircraft-like terms. “The rider’s upright posture and the completely unobstructed field of vision combine to create a unique feeling of gliding above the road with absolute confidence and complete control,” Henriette said.
The AMB 002 Roadster’s Engine and Chassis
Power comes from an all-new 1083cc four-stroke, water-cooled V-twin, producing a claimed 130bhp and 81.2 lb-ft of torque. The engine is designed, machined, and assembled in-house at Brough Superior’s Toulouse headquarters, with CNC-machined billet engine cases optimized for weight reduction and structural efficiency.
That engine sits within a billet titanium frame that forms a structural spine, part of Brough Superior’s signature backbone architecture. Milled from a solid billet, the frame weighs just 5kg, a fraction of a conventional design, and is central to achieving the bike’s 50:50 weight distribution.
Carbon-fiber bodywork and a carbon fuel tank keep the center of gravity exceptionally low, and combined with a claimed total weight of just 190kg, the AMB 002 pairs real low-end torque with the kind of nimble handling that’s harder to achieve as bike weight climbs. It’s a notably different engineering approach than most road-legal superbikes, which typically build around a conventional twin-spar aluminum frame rather than using the engine casing itself as load-bearing structure.
The AMB 002 Roadster’s Fior Front Suspension
Brough Superior’s distinctive double-wishbone “Fior fork” carries over to the AMB 002, an evolution of the system first developed for the AMB 001 Pro. Unlike a conventional telescopic fork, the Fior design separates steering and braking forces while maintaining precise control of front-end geometry, giving the bike anti-dive characteristics that matter most when braking hard while leaned over mid-corner.
How the AMB 002 Roadster Follows the AMB 001
The AMB 002 Roadster follows the AMB 001, a turbocharged, track-only model released in 2019 and limited to 100 units, and the more powerful AMB 001 Pro, launched in 2022 with a claimed 221.9bhp from a machined version of the same 997cc V-twin used in the 001.
Where those two bikes existed purely as track weapons, the 002 is aimed explicitly at what Aston Martin calls “discerning road riders and automotive collectors.” That shift in audience, from track-day specialists to collectors who actually want to ride, shapes nearly every decision visible on the spec sheet.
Marek Reichman, Aston Martin’s Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer, called the road-going bike a long-held ambition. “It was always a long-term dream to make an Aston Martin motorcycle for the road,” Reichman said, framing the AMB 002 as the natural extension of two track-only halo bikes.
Stefano Saporetti, Aston Martin’s Director of Brand Diversification, framed the partnership itself as having outgrown its original scope. “The commercial journey from our first limited run to our current portfolio proves that the appetite for Aston Martin’s design language extends far beyond four wheels,” Saporetti said, calling the collaboration a proven driver of brand value rather than a one-off experiment.
Pricing hasn’t been announced, though the AMB 001 launched north of $100,000, and a smaller production run on the AMB 002 suggests it won’t undercut that figure by much.
Two track-only superbikes were always going to be a hard act to build a road bike around, and Aston Martin and Brough Superior clearly know it. The real test isn’t whether the AMB 002 looks the part, it already does, it’s whether 300 owners find that a billet titanium spine and a Toulouse-built V-twin translate into something worth riding on an actual road, not just admiring in a collection.
