The REV’IT Defender 4 GTX arrives as the new flagship of REV’IT!’s adventure lineup, and the brand isn’t calling it a refresh — it’s a ground-up redesign of one of the company’s most recognized jackets. Built as a premium four-season adventure piece, the Defender 4 GTX combines a new three-layer construction with a modular climate system built to handle everything from summer heat to winter riding.

The Climate System Behind the REV’IT Defender 4 GTX

The jacket’s standout feature is its layering logic. A detachable PrimaLoft Silver thermal liner handles warmth on the bike and doubles as a standalone jacket once you’re off it, while a removable GORE-TEX ePE waterproof liner uses REV’IT’s “Over-and-Under” concept — worn inside the shell for everyday riding, or over the outer layer when weather turns. That flexibility matters more than it sounds: keeping the waterproof layer on the outside in a downpour means the jacket stays lighter and dries faster afterward, rather than soaking through an outer shell that then has to dry from the inside out.

A New Chassis for the REV’IT Defender 4 GTX

REV’IT rebuilt the jacket’s chassis primarily from flexible PWR|Shell bonded rib stretch, aimed at improving mobility without giving up durability, with Cordura XL Ripstop reinforcement layered into high-wear areas. Multiple adjustment points at the waist, forearms, cuffs, and hem let riders dial in fit regardless of which liners are installed at a given time — a detail that matters more on a modular jacket than a fixed one, since swapping liners in and out changes how everything sits. Large chest intake vents and rear exhaust panels handle airflow when temperatures climb, rounding out a jacket built to flex between conditions rather than being optimized for just one.

Protection Standards on the REV’IT Defender 4 GTX

The AA-rated jacket ships standard with SEEFLEX CE-Level 2 shoulder and elbow protectors and is prepped for optional SEESOFT CE-Level 2 back and CE-Level 1 chest protection, giving riders a path to build out full impact protection without the jacket restricting movement in its base configuration. Laminated reflective detailing adds low-light visibility while keeping the Defender’s cleaner technical look intact, a similar approach to what REV’IT applied on the Altair H2O jacket.

The Defender 4 GTX isn’t launching alone — REV’IT is introducing it alongside a new luggage family, including the Node H2O leg bag, plus updated gloves and laminated waterproof separates built to pair with the jacket directly.
