Motorcycle Life by Eric Hendrikx brings together more than 100 riders from across the globe in a single volume that does something most motorcycle books do not attempt — it treats riding as a lens for understanding identity, resilience, mental health, and human connection rather than reducing it to horsepower and chrome. Published by Artisan Books, Motorcycle Life by Eric Hendrikx features a foreword by Norman Reedus, an introduction by Mike Wolfe, and interviews with Keanu Reeves, Jason Momoa, Tommy Flanagan, Carey Hart, Steve Caballero, Leticia Cline, Billy Morrison, and dozens more — from builders and racers to designers, musicians, and everyday riders who found something they did not expect on two wheels.

The Voices Inside Motorcycle Life by Eric Hendrikx
The range of voices in Motorcycle Life by Eric Hendrikx is what gives the book its weight. Jason Momoa talks about the alignment of mind, body, and soul on a bike. Keanu Reeves frames riding as a conscious choice to pursue the benefit despite the cost. Norman Reedus describes the road as the place where expectations and noise fall away. Carey Hart speaks to pain as a challenge rather than an ending.
Leticia Cline puts it directly — she has ridden through hell and come out stronger, and riding taught her that if she cannot carry it, she probably does not need it. Gevin Fax cuts through the noise: with all the division out there, the rule is simple — be cool and ride. These are not press-release quotes. They are riders speaking about what the motorcycle unlocked in their lives, and the book treats every voice — famous or not — with the same editorial seriousness.
The Personal Connection to Motorcycle Life by Eric Hendrikx
Full disclosure — I was interviewed for Motorcycle Life by Eric Hendrikx and am featured in the book. Shortly after the interview, Hendrikx and I connected at the Harley-Davidson Homecoming event in Milwaukee, where the kind of cross-community energy the book documents was on full display. That personal connection does not change the assessment — Hendrikx, a California-born journalist based in Toronto who has written for Men’s Journal, Rolling Stone, Robb Report, and Revolver, approached this project with an anthropologist’s eye and a rider’s instinct. The result is a book that earns its place on the shelf.

Preorder Royalties and the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride
Hendrikx is donating 100 percent of his preorder royalties to the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride in support of Movember, funding programs in men’s mental health and prostate cancer research. The DGR operates in more than 1,000 cities worldwide and has raised over $60 million to date. Hendrikx has served as a DGR and Movember ambassador since 2018, personally raising more than $100,000. The announcement coincides with his participation in the May 17 ride. Motorcycle Life by Eric Hendrikx is available for preorder at $40 wherever books are sold.
