The Honda 2025 Gold Wing marks a historic milestone, celebrating 50 years of redefining touring motorcycles. Since its debut in 1975, the Gold Wing has become synonymous with long-distance comfort, advanced technology, and smooth performance. It is the O.G. “Two Wheeled Sofa”. The latest iteration continues the tradition, blending legendary engineering with modern updates, including wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, fresh color options, and a refined design.
A Half-Century of Gold Wing Legacy
The Honda 2025 Gold Wing commemorates five decades of excellence, evolving from its original GL1000 model into a powerhouse of innovation. In 1980, Honda introduced the GL1100, solidifying its identity as a luxury touring bike, complete with factory-installed fairings and luggage. The 1988 Gold Wing saw the introduction of the six-cylinder GL1500, enhancing comfort and power. The 2001 GL1800 brought fuel injection, an aluminum twin-spar frame, and optional ABS, elevating performance to new heights. The Gold Wing’s most recent transformation came in 2018 with a lighter, more compact, and technologically advanced redesign.
To celebrate its 50th anniversary, the Honda 2025 Gold Wing receives several exciting updates. Riders can now enjoy wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality replacing the former built-in navigation system. The Gold Wing’s iconic logo now features “Since 1975” in its meter’s startup animation. A bold Gold Wing logo adorns the saddlebags and side fairings on standard models, while a special 50th Anniversary badge appears in front of the seat and on the Smart Key (excluding the Light Silver Metallic edition). To further mark this occasion, buyers of the Honda 2025 Gold Wing in Eternal Gold, Bordeaux Red Metallic, or Matte Black Metallic will receive two commemorative gifts: a coffee table book and a 1:12 scale model featuring the 1975 and 2025 Gold Wing.
Honda 2025 Gold Wing Engine and Performance
Under the tank of the Honda 2025 Gold Wing is its legendary 1,833cc, liquid-cooled, horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine. The unique flat-six design provides a low center of gravity, reducing vibration for a smoother ride. Paired with a six-speed manual or Honda’s seven-speed DCT, the engine delivers solid performance, fuel efficiency, and effortless power. Honda’s dual-clutch transmission (DCT) technology allows riders to shift without a clutch lever. Walking and Reverse modes provide easy maneuverability in tight spaces, while the smooth-shifting six-speed manual transmission appeals to traditionalists.
Advanced Suspension and Braking
Honda’s double-wishbone front suspension remains a defining feature of the Honda 2025 Gold Wing, minimizing road shock and improving overall handling. The single-sided Pro-Link rear suspension provides a plush ride, while Tour models come with electronically adjustable suspension settings to tailor preload and damping based on rider preference.
Braking power is delivered through six-piston, radially mounted Nissin front calipers and large 320mm rotors, paired with a 316mm rear rotor. Honda’s electronically controlled combined ABS delivers optimal braking force distribution.
Honda 2025 Gold Wing Design
The Honda 2025 Gold Wing lineup includes two main versions: the Gold Wing Tour, designed for long-distance luxury with a top case, and a streamlined, “bagger”-style standard Gold Wing without the top case. Both are available with a traditional manual transmission or Honda’s innovative automatic Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). The Gold Wing Tour comes in an Airbag-equipped version for enhanced safety.
Visually, the Honda 2025 Gold Wing retains its sharp, aerodynamic design with a compact yet aggressive stance. The engine is prominently displayed, reinforcing the bike’s performance-driven character. Honda’s focus is on airflow management for rider comfort and optimal aerodynamics.
Rider Comfort and Ergonomics
The 2025 Gold Wing’s two-piece seat provides premium support for the rider and passenger, with the backrest angle designed for long-haul relaxation. A suede-like premium seat cover adds both style and function. Honda also refined the footpeg and handlebar positions to enhance control.
A key feature of the Honda 2025 Gold Wing is its electrically adjustable windscreen, which can be controlled via a left-handlebar switch. Riders can fine-tune the height and angle to match riding conditions, optimizing airflow for high-speed cruising and slow city rides. Gold Wing Tour models come standard with a tall windscreen, while the standard Gold Wing features a shorter version, with the taller windscreen available as an accessory.
Luggage and Storage
Gold Wing Tour models have an expansive 61-liter top trunk. Each side saddlebag provides an additional 30 liters of storage, bringing the total storage capacity to 121 liters. The saddlebags and trunk feature high-quality lid dampers. Standard Gold Wing riders who want additional storage can opt for the rear box as an accessory.
Honda 2025 Gold Wing Tech
You’ll note the 7-inch TFT display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, and an improved audio system on the 2025 model. Riders can access phone calls, messages, and music via wireless connectivity. The Tour versions feature four 45-watt speakers, while the standard Gold Wing has two. Honda’s Smart Key system enables push-button start and keyless operation, while the Vehicle Viewfinder function makes it easy to locate the motorcycle in a crowded parking lot. The Airbag version remains available for added safety.
Celebrating 50 years of excellence, the Honda 2025 Gold Wing honors its heritage while embracing the future. With refined styling, wireless smartphone integration, superior comfort, and cutting-edge technology, Honda continues to set the benchmark for touring motorcycles.
For that, we say thank you. And happy anniversary.
