The Ducati Desmo450 MX US Tour is officially on, marking a new chapter in Ducati’s off-road racing history. Teaming up with Troy Lee Designs, Ducati has launched the Desmo450 MX in the United States, following its successful introduction in the Italian Prestige MX1 Championship with Alessandro Lupino.
Ducati announced the collaboration on January 10th during the AMA Supercross opener in Anaheim, where the Desmo450 MX prototype was displayed in Ducati Corse livery. Troy Lee, founder of Troy Lee Designs, emphasized the importance of this partnership, citing the crucial role it plays in product development and advancing racing safety. Fans attending the AMA Supercross races in 2025 can look forward to seeing Troy Lee Designs set up shop at seven additional events, showcasing a sectioned Desmo450 engine and sharing insights about Ducati’s groundbreaking technology.
Beyond the AMA Supercross paddock, the Ducati Desmo450 MX US Tour will make a high-profile stop at Ducati Island during the Grand Prix of the Americas (COTA) on March 30th. This cameo offers MotoGP fans a rare chance to get up close and personal with Ducati’s latest off-road innovation before the bikes hit European dealers in June 2025. The Desmo450 MX features signature Ducati Desmodromic valve timing—allowing for higher revs and fewer gear changes—alongside advanced electronics that draw on Ducati’s MotoGP experience. This approach delivers a lightweight, nimble machine perfectly tailored to dedicated racers and amateur enthusiasts looking for top shelf performance.
Ducati has plans to continue refining the Desmo450 MX through ongoing Supercross involvement, a move that reflects the manufacturer’s forward-thinking approach in bringing elite European racing technology to the American off-road scene.
