The Bridgestone BATTLAX RACING STREET RS12 is now the original equipment tire on the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, the companies announced September 3 from Nashville. The pairing brings together two stories SBI has already covered separately: the RS12’s own launch last fall, and the ZX-10R’s redesign for the current model year, now officially converging on the same bike.
For a bike built explicitly to carry Superbike World Championship-proven performance onto public roads, the tire choice underneath it matters as much as anything bolted to the frame.
Why the Bridgestone BATTLAX RACING STREET RS12 Fits the ZX-10R
Kawasaki’s Ninja ZX-10R remains the brand’s flagship Supersport machine, built as a base vehicle for professional racing and continuously updated for riders pushing its limits. The current model retains performance proven in the Superbike World Championship while improving emissions and adding newly designed large winglets that increase front-end contact feel through corners, along with revised chassis geometry aimed at improving overall controllability.
Built under Bridgestone’s “From Circuit to Street” concept, the Bridgestone BATTLAX RACING STREET RS12 delivers the highest dry-grip performance in BATTLAX’s road-legal lineup. The tire draws on technology proven in motorcycle endurance racing, with a newly developed compound and tread pattern combination engineered to hold grip through multiple laps rather than fading as a session wears on.
That durability under repeated hard use is precisely the kind of real-world validation OE partnerships are meant to prove out before a tire ever reaches showroom floors.

How the Bridgestone BATTLAX RACING STREET RS12 Earned the OE Slot
Kawasaki’s own evaluation of the RS12 is what secured the OE placement, with the tire developed specifically to match the ZX-10R’s power output. Bridgestone frames the pairing as maximizing the bike’s performance across a wide range of conditions, from dry, winding street roads to full circuit track days, rather than optimizing narrowly for one riding style over another.
That range matters for a Supersport model in particular, since ZX-10R owners split fairly evenly between weekend street riders and genuine track-day regulars, and a tire that only excels at one end of that spectrum would undercut the bike’s own dual-purpose design.
The announcement continues a run of OE wins for Bridgestone on Kawasaki’s lineup, following the BATTLAX HYPERSPORT S23’s selection as OE tire on the 2026 Ninja ZX-10R and ZX-10RR for the standard trim level. Landing the RS12 specifically on the Supersport-oriented model suggests Bridgestone is positioning its most track-capable street tire for Kawasaki’s most track-capable street bike, rather than treating OE fitment as interchangeable across trims.
Bridgestone frames the deal within its broader “E8 Commitment,” the company’s stated corporate goal of inspiring excitement and delivering what it calls Riding Excitement for decades to come. Headquartered in Nashville with more than 45,000 employees worldwide, Bridgestone has spent the past several product cycles pushing its BATTLAX line further into the performance-street segment specifically.
This OE win is the clearest evidence yet that the strategy is landing with major manufacturers rather than just enthusiast buyers. For a tire manufacturer, an OE win on a flagship Supersport model is about as direct a validation as it gets, and it puts real pressure on rival tire brands competing for the next generation of factory-fitment contracts.
