Triumph Motorcycles unveiled the Triumph Trident 660 Tribute Special Edition in honor of the legacy of “Slippery Sam,” the world-renowned five-time TT-winning Trident. The special edition also introduces a fresh, contemporary white, blue, and red graphic scheme that pays homage to its racing heritage. With extras like Triumph Shift Assist, a belly pan, and a color-matched fly screen fitted as standard, this special edition promises to blend iconic style with modern performance.

The special edition features a dynamic graphic scheme inspired by “Slippery Sam.” It carries forward the Trident’s triple-engine performance and handling. Now, with the added convenience of Triumph Shift Assist, it’s set to offer an even more exhilarating ride. The color-matched fly screen and belly pan elevate the bike’s distinctive style, showcasing Triumph’s unparalleled standard of fit and finish.

The Triumph Trident 660 Tribute’s white, blue, and red scheme, with the ’67 number graphic and color-matched accents, complements the Triumph badges, body-colored components, and lightweight aluminum details.

The 660cc engine, specially tuned for the Trident, strikes the ideal balance of torque, mid-range, and top-end power while delivering a distinctive triple soundtrack. Triumph Shift Assist, included as standard equipment on this special edition, elevates the riding experience, allowing for smooth, clutchless gear changes.

The Trident 660 features a low wet weight (417 pounds) and accessible seat height (31.7 inches), further enhanced by high-quality suspension and braking components. A pair of Nissin two-piston sliding calipers with twin 310mm discs and a single rear sliding caliper with Nissin 255mm disc handle the ABS braking duties. 41mm Showa front forks and a rear Showa monoshock with adjustable preload complete the suspension assembly.

Road and Rain riding modes, switchable traction control, and a multi-functional TFT screen with a white-on-black LCD and engine immobilizer are a selection of the tech features.

Paul Stroud, Triumph’s Chief Commercial Officer, highlights the Trident’s impact on reinvigorating the middleweight roadster category since its 2020 launch, with over 35,600 units sold globally. Its triple engine, premium detailing, and competitive pricing have attracted a younger demographic to Triumph, mirroring the inspirational role “Slippery Sam” played for previous generations.

The Triumph Trident 660 Tribute Special Edition will be available in dealerships in Spring 2024, starting at $8,595.
