Sean Dylan Kelly joins Alex Arango at TopPro Racing, gearing up to dominate the 2024 MotoAmerica Superbike Championship.
TopPro Racing announced that it will compete in the 2024 MotoAmerica Championship with a team spearheaded by 2021 MotoAmerica Supersport Champion Sean Dylan Kelly in the Steel Commander Superbike Series. The team’s co-owner, Alex Arango, will also be racing alongside Kelly on BMW M 1000 RRs.
Kelly, who has 19 victories and is tied for second on the all-time MotoAmerica Supersport win list, recently completed two seasons in the Moto2 World Championship. At the same time, Arango finished in the top 20 in the 2023 MotoAmerica Stock 1000 Championship in his first season in the series.
According to Arango, the team worked tirelessly during the off-season to make the team a reality, interviewing numerous riders to find the best fit for their team. They believe that Sean Dylan Kelly can be very competitive with the BMW package they will provide. Arango added that they are eager to get on track with the entire team as they have a lot of work to prepare over the next few months. He also expressed confidence in the team, stating that they have set high expectations and believe they have a great group of pilots to achieve great results.
Kelly is looking forward to his first season of MotoAmerica Superbike racing and a return to the MotoAmerica series. He expressed enthusiasm to race in front of all the fans in the United States again and is excited to achieve success in the MotoAmerica paddock. He also thanked team owners Alex Arango and Agustin Sierra for the opportunity and can’t wait for the first test aboard his BMW M 1000 RR Superbike. The team will make further announcements regarding additional riders in the coming weeks. They will begin testing early next year in preparation for the season, which starts with the March 7-9 running of the Daytona 200 before the first round of the Steel Commander Superbike Championship at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta on April 19-21.
