MotoAmerica Mid-Ohio 2026 Sunday’s Superbike race was halted twice. Pole-sitter Benjamin Smith crashed on the opening lap after touching wet grass exiting Turn 2, a highside that ended his weekend without injury but forced an immediate restart. On the second start, PJ Jacobsen mounted a charge that carried him as high as third and produced the race’s fastest lap — a 1:25.009 — before he crashed out and drew a second red flag. Loris Baz brought his Warhorse HSBK Ducati home fourth, less than two seconds off the lead group at the final tally.

Kelly Extends His MotoAmerica Points Lead With a Saturday Statement

Smith grabbed a career-first pole by 0.005 seconds over Kelly, then led laps three through seven before Bobby Fong took over at the front and set the race’s fastest lap. Binder Sweeps Supersport as Baggers and Twins Cup Deliver Photo Finishes

Darryn Binder completed a MotoAmerica Mid-Ohio 2026 double in Supersport, winning Saturday by 0.050 seconds and Sunday by 0.039 over championship rival Josh Herrin. Sunday’s race was trimmed to 16 laps after an opening-lap collision, and Kayla Yaakov worked her way back from a Turn 4 bobble to take the final podium spot. “To come away with the double win is a fantastic result,” Binder said. He now leads Herrin by 19 points with three rounds remaining.

In King of the Baggers, Hayden Gillim completed his own weekend sweep, charging from sixth to beat teammate Troy Herfoss by 0.25 seconds in Race 2 after a slow start. “Just really, really happy with this,” Gillim said. The result extends his lead over Herfoss — his fellow Indian Motorcycle stablemate — to 23 points, with the title fight increasingly shaping up as a two-rider battle within the same team.

Twins Cup produced the tightest finish of the weekend outside Superbike, with Hank Vossberg beating title rival Mathew Chapin by just 0.25 seconds after the two traded the lead twice in the closing laps. Vossberg’s margin in the championship now stands at 63 points over Chapin with two rounds left.

Super Hooligan Tightens as Build.Train.Race Closes Out Its Season

Andy DiBrino beat teammate and team owner Bryce Kornbau by 0.216 seconds in Mission Super Hooligan, even as Kornbau broke his own class lap record from a day earlier en route to second. “I feel like I’ve been dreaming ever since the Ridge,” DiBrino said. He now leads Kornbau by five points with one round remaining, and only the top three in points — DiBrino, Kornbau, and Gus Rodio — remain mathematically eligible for the title.

The Royal Enfield Build.Train.Race. program closed its 2026 season at Mid-Ohio, with Bryanna Everitt winning by 0.7 seconds over a late-race scramble between Tati Paze, Brianna Cutler, and newly crowned series champion Jasmine Noelle. It capped a full weekend of racing at Mid-Ohio before MotoAmerica heads to Virginia International Raceway for round seven, August 14-16.
