Raúl Fernández Re-Signs With Trackhouse Through 2028

Raúl Fernández is staying with Trackhouse through 2028, re-signing with the team he joined at its founding just as MotoGP heads into a new regulations era. The extension covers the 2027 and 2028 seasons, keeping Fernández and the SuperFile Trackhouse MotoGP Team together from the project’s earliest days through the sport’s next technical chapter.

Raúl Fernández’s Rise With Trackhouse

Fernández joined Trackhouse ahead of the 2024 season, and 2025 became the year the partnership started producing real results: Sprint podiums at Mandalika and Phillip Island, followed by his and the team’s first Grand Prix victory in Australia. He closed out the season with a second-place finish at the Valencia finale, a strong marker heading into 2026.

Trackhouse Entertainment Group Owner Justin Marks credited that growth directly in confirming the deal: “He has grown as a rider both on the bike and with his preparation, approach, and maturity.”

Raúl Fernández’s Road Through the Junior Ranks

Fernández’s path to MotoGP started early — the Madrid native began racing at 11 years old, working through Spain’s Cuna de Campeones program before graduating into PreMoto3, the FIM CEV Repsol series, and the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup. He won the FIM CEV Repsol Moto3 Junior World Championship in 2018, then moved into the full Moto3 World Championship the following year as a regular top-10 finisher.

His real breakout came in Moto2. After a strong 2020 season that included his first Grand Prix win at the European GP, Fernández had what remains the most successful rookie campaign in Moto2 history in 2021 — eight victories, breaking Marc Márquez’s previous record for rookie wins in the class.

A late-season crash at Misano cost him the title, and he settled for runner-up, but the season was enough to establish him as one of the sport’s most closely watched prospects heading into MotoGP.

His first two MotoGP seasons were harder than the hype suggested. A 2022 debut with Tech3 KTM Factory Racing paired him with an unforgiving RC16, and a move to RNF Aprilia in 2023 brought only gradual improvement. It took joining Trackhouse in 2024 — and two more seasons of development — before Fernández’s results caught up with his junior-category talent.

A Breakout 2026 Season for Raúl Fernández

This season has been Fernández’s best yet: three Grand Prix podiums and three Sprint podiums, including two Sprint wins, at Mugello and at the Dutch TT at Assen. The Assen weekend stood out beyond his own result — Trackhouse swept both the Sprint and Grand Prix that weekend, a first for the team since its 2024 launch.

He backed that up at the Sachsenring, topping Friday’s FP1 session ahead of reigning champion Marc Márquez before finishing second to him in the Grand Prix.

What’s Next for Raúl Fernández and Trackhouse

Fernández’s 2027 teammate hasn’t been announced yet, leaving one of the grid’s more closely watched seats still open heading into a season that will also introduce new machinery across the paddock.

For a team that’s gone from its first Grand Prix win to a Sprint-and-GP sweep inside two seasons, locking in the rider who delivered both of those milestones before the new era even begins is worth the credit it’s getting — congratulations to Fernández and Trackhouse on a partnership that’s clearly still building toward more.
