What is old has become new again as Kawasaki draws from the past to ride into the future with its new Z900RS Cafe.

Kawasaki has released their new 2018 Z900RS Cafe, as part of their throwback every day, retro style model line up. The Cafe takes notes from the Kawasaki Z1-R, Eddie Lawson’s Replica KZR1000R, and GPz models while updating key elements for today’s rider. The result is the perfect combination of old-school flair with modern day tech.

The Cafe’s modern suspension system is composed of a newly designed lightweight trellis frame with 41mm inverted front fork set up. The forks offer fully adjustable 10-way compression and 12-way rebound damping. In the rear, the set up features a horizontal back-link rear suspension design with rebound damping and preload adjustability.

The front brake set up on the Cafe includes full 300mm disc brakes equipped with a radial-pump front brake master cylinder that operate radial-mount monobloc calipers. A rear single 250mm disc with a single piston, pin-slide caliper completes the ABS-equipped brake system.

The Cafe houses a 948cc inline four, liquid cooled, 16 valve engine that boosts torque performance at the low end and middle range while being spotlighted by features such as a slipper clutch, traction control and a precision-tuned exhaust note. Not to be unmentioned, the Cafe also sports a brushed stainless steel exhaust system, black low rise handlebars, a stepped seat, fairing and new engine case covers… All packaged in a vibrant Vintage Lime Green colorway with a price tag of $11,499.
