Indian Motorcycle continues to raise the bar for performance cruiser motorcycles with the launch of its most aggressive iteration yet, the 2023 Indian Sport Chief. By combining American styling with advanced, premium components and building upon one of the most iconic motorcycle namesakes in history, the Sport Chief holds a lot of promise with its Thunderstroke 116 engine with 120 foot pounds of torque, and its sleek black finish, and rugged yet refined good looks.
With its sleek, retro-inspired design and high-profile placement at the front, the Sport Chief’s Quarter Fairing offers a classic yet sporty look. This stylish quarter fairing wraps around the revolutionary Chief Pathfinder 5 3⁄4 inch Adaptive LED Headlight, to give you that undeniable custom styling. Available in either chrome or black, the Chief Pathfinder is designed to monitor your bike’s lean angle, providing you with an optimized view of the road ahead for superior illumination and visibility. It features an adaptive high-beam that projects light at a greater distance than standard headlights do, maximizing the range of your visibility.
The Sport Chief is equipped with Brembo’s dual-disc, four-piston, semi-floating caliper and radial brakes which offer reassuring stopping ability. Suspension components include KYB inverted front forks and a piggyback design FOX rear shock. The updated design on the rear shock increases the travel distance up to four inches as well as increases the lean angle up to 29.5 degrees.
The Indian Sport Chief has a selection of style and design notes that make it a progressive bike like the machined triple clamps and six-inch moto-style risers. The solo gun-fighter seat supplies riders with both a unique style and comfort on longer rides.
Indian Motorcycle’s four-inch touchscreen powered by RIDE COMMAND dash provides an impressive ride experience. It is disguised as an analog gauge to fit in seamlessly with the style of the Sport Chief, yet can be quickly accessed through handlebar controls or the digital touchscreen display.
Bluetooth communication systems can be connected to the RIDE COMMAND system, giving access to music, phone information, and turn-by-turn navigation.
Beginning in the Spring of 2023, the Indian Sport Chief, in Black Smoke, Ruby Smoke, Stealth Gray, or Spirit Blue Smoke, will be available at local Indian Motorcycle dealerships with a starting MSRP of $18,999.
