The 2022 Indian Motorcycle Racing team wins its sixth consecutive AFT Manufacturer’s Championship.
Indian Motorcycle Racing takes the glory as the 2022 AFT Manufacturer’s Champion, for the sixth consecutive year. Team riders Jared Mees and Briar Bauman’s, AKA the Wrecking Crew, efforts contributed to the brand’s success, despite rule changes that restricted the performance of the Indian FTR750.
Jared Mees took home his eighth Grand National Championship after taking second and third place finishes at the American Flat Track Volusia Half-Mile I and II 2022 season finale. Briar Bauman’s double podium moved him from fourth to second in the final standings, giving the Indian Motorcycle factory team the top two SuperTwins spots for four years in a row.
“This year brought new challenges unlike any other. Our Manufacturer’s Championship and Mees’ title are a testament to the team’s resiliency and hard work. And, of course, a personal congratulations to Jared on his eighth championship. When we returned to the sport in 2017 and Jared joined the Wrecking Crew, he shared his career goal with us, so to be sitting here, six years later, and him just one title shy, is truly amazing.” – Gary Gray, Vice President Racing, Service and Technology.
Jared Mees, with 60 career wins and multiple records under his belt, is now just one title away from reaching Scottie Parker’s record of nine championships.
