Cameron Dunker MP13 Racing news arrives with real stakes attached. The Australian Superbike Championship standout joins MP13 Racing/One Cure Racing as a fill-in rider for next weekend’s Superbikes at Mid-Ohio MotoAmerica Supersport round, stepping in for injured rider Avery Dreher. In a connected but separate piece of news, the team also confirmed both Avery and his sister Ella Dreher have been re-signed for the full 2027 Supersport campaign.
Cameron Dunker Steps In at Mid-Ohio
Cameron Dunker has real credentials: he’s 19, hails from Kurri Kurri, New South Wales, and finished a genuinely strong fourth in the 2026 Australian Superbike Championship final standings — real, verifiable credential heading into an unfamiliar paddock. He’ll race the #33 MP13 Racing/One Cure Racing MV Agusta F3 RR, alongside teammate Joseph LiMandri Jr., who joined the team two rounds ago at Ridge Motorsports Park and also raced Laguna Seca on the #641 machine. The challenge in front of Cameron Dunker is real and worth stating plainly: learning both a new motorcycle and an unfamiliar track on the fly, with no margin for a slow adjustment period.
Team owner Melissa Paris personally selected Cameron Dunker for the seat after racing alongside LiMandri Jr. at Laguna Seca. “You never want to be in the position of looking for a fill-in rider midseason, let alone two of them,” Paris said. “As a team, we have tried to reframe it as an opportunity for some of these riders to prove that they deserve a place in the MotoAmerica paddock. Cameron obviously has an impressive resume back in Australia, and he also has a few people I trust who vouched for him.”
Cameron Dunker himself was warm about the opportunity, and specifically generous toward the riders he’s replacing: “I’m incredibly grateful to Melissa and the entire MP13 Racing/One Cure Racing team for giving me the opportunity to compete in the MotoAmerica Supersport Championship. I’d also like to wish Avery and Ella Dreher all the best in their recoveries, and I hope they will be back on their bikes soon. It’s a privilege to step in and represent the team.”
The Dreher Siblings Return for 2027
Avery and Ella Dreher are both recovering from separate on-track injuries suffered earlier this season, and their re-signing for the full 2027 MotoAmerica Supersport Championship reads as a genuine act of solidarity from the team, not a routine roster move. “2026 was shaping up to be a dream season for MP13 Racing thanks to the support of the Pierces and One Cure Racing,” Paris said. “Having both Ella and Avery get injured the way they did has definitely been a bit of a blow to the morale for the whole team… I’ve not met many racers with the same level of determination and drive I see from Ella and Avery.”
Avery Dreher was direct about his excitement: “I love working with everyone on the team, and I feel like we can really build off this season. Racing Supersport this year has been amazing, and I’m having a blast on the MV Agusta.” Ella’s own words carry real weight given her recovery: “I had a pretty big hiccup earlier this season, but I’ve been working hard every day to get stronger and get back on the bike. The MV Agusta is a sweet motorcycle. I can’t wait to throw my leg over it again and be back racing in MotoAmerica.”
The team’s mission runs deeper than racing. David and Maxine Pierce’s One Cure initiative works with the Colorado State University Veterinary Clinic, funding cancer research that benefits companion animals who present with cancer at the clinic — no animals are given cancer for research purposes — with findings that also inform human cancer treatment. “My affiliation with MP13 Racing is about creating opportunities for young people and to raise awareness for One Cure,” Pierce said. “Ours is an expensive sport, and if our best young men and women are to succeed, they need some help.”
