The 2025 Yamaha YZF-R1 is geared up and ready to redefine the sportbike landscape with significant updates that blend advanced engineering with Yamaha’s rich racing heritage. Building on its reputation as a track-dominating weapon, the latest R1 introduces several enhancements designed to elevate performance and rider experience to the upper level.
Most notable of these updates are the new carbon fiber aerodynamic winglets contributing to the R1’s aggressive aesthetics, generating additional downforce, enhancing front-end feel during high-speed braking and cornering, and increasing stability and confidence.
The 2025 YZF-R1 roars with a 998cc CP4 crossplane engine housed inside a lightweight aluminum Deltabox frame. The CP4 engine features titanium connecting rods, titanium intake valves and forged pistons. The gearbox is a compact 6-speed transmission assembly close-ration gearing, manipulated by an advanced assist and slipper clutch.
Note the sweeping electronics suite, including a six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), lean-sensitive Traction Control System (TCS), Slide Control System (SCS), Brake Control (BC) System, and multiple riding modes.
The 2025 YZF-R1 features a fully redesigned adjustable 43mm KYB front fork setup, promising impressive response and road feel for proper chassis performance and solid handling. At the rear, you’ll fin an adjustable KYB shock. The braking department enlists Brembo Stylema monobloc front brake calipers paired with a new Brembo master cylinder.
The 2025 Yamaha YZF-R1 will be available in Team Yamaha Blue and Matte Raven Black color options with an MSRP of $18,999 when it hits the dealership floor in Fall of 2024.
