The Ducati Lenovo MotoGP Team of Francesco “Pecco” Bagnaia and Marc Márquez is ready for the 2025 season, promising a year of excitement, innovation, and competition. The team enters 2025 as reigning Constructor and Team World Champions, boasting 13 victories in 2024.
Francesco Bagnaia (#63) returns for his fifth season with the Ducati Lenovo Team. After a challenging 2024 season that saw him break records but miss out on the title, Bagnaia is determined to channel his experience into another competitive run. Alongside him is the legendary Marc Márquez (#93), who joins the team for a fresh start in what he calls “the most important challenge” of his career.
Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati Motor Holding, highlighted the synergy between Bagnaia’s expertise and Márquez’s talent, emphasizing their potential to elevate the team’s performance even further.
The star of the Ducati Lenovo MotoGP team is the Ducati Desmosedici GP 2025. Tipping the scales with a wet weight of 346.1 pounds, the bike features an advanced engine setup, with a liquid-cooled 90° V4, four-stroke, Desmodromic DOHC configuration with four valves per cylinder. With a capacity of 1,000cc, this motorcycle produces an impressive power output of over 250 hp and can achieve a top speed of over 218 mph. Power delivery is managed through a Ducati Seamless Transmission alongside a chain final drive.
For fuel management, the bike utilizes an indirect electronic injection system with four throttle bodies and double Ride by Wire technology. It runs on Shell Racing V-Power, complemented by Shell Advance Ultra 4 as its lubricant. The exhaust system features an Akrapovič setup.
The frame is constructed from an aluminum alloy twin-spar design, complemented by a high-performance Öhlins inverted front fork and rear shock, both adjustable for customized handling. The bikes’ Marelli ECU incorporates Dorna Unified Software, enhancing its electronic capabilities.
The tires on the Ducati Desmosedici GP 2025 are Michelin 17″ front and rear, while the wheels are crafted from forged magnesium alloy in a 5 spoke Y design from Marchesini. For braking performance, it features a braking system with Monobloc finned aluminum GP4 Brembo calipers and double carbon brake discs at the front and a Brembo aluminum caliper with a steel brake disc at the rear.
This season also emphasizes collaboration with Lenovo, whose advanced technology will push the limits of racing performance. As Luca Rossi, President of Lenovo’s Intelligent Devices Group, noted, this partnership exemplifies shared values and a relentless drive for innovation.
The season begins with the first official testing sessions at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia from February 5 to 7. Fans can look forward to seeing Bagnaia and Márquez take on the competition starting with the season opener in Thailand on March 2.
