VOLTERRA and Instituto Europeo di Design EV Collaboration

VOLTERRA Motors is teaming up with Instituto Europeo di Design to work on a prototype for their next-generation electric motorcycle.

VOLTERRA, a United States-based EV manufacturer announced a collaboration with Instituto Europeo di Design in Turin, Italy that offered master’s degree students the opportunity to design a fully-electric, next-generation touring motorcycle for VOLTERRA.

Around 25 students from Instituto Europeo di Design’s transportation design master course submitted concepts for a two-wheeled “concept bike” under the VOLTERRA brand during the first semester of the 2022-2023 academic year. They received a briefing on VOLTERRA’s mission to develop clean alternatives in the powersports industry while still preserving key aspects such as range, safety, and riding vibes that are found in traditional fuel and fire motorcycles.

Of all the potential designs, VOLTERRA chose the one that best fits the company’s ethos, both technologically and aesthetically. This design can seat two adults plus luggage, has a range of over 250 miles, and comes with cutting edge user interface technology for a safe and comfortable ride.
