After a ten year run of international competition that included a season in MotoGP 125 class, WorldSBK, WorldSS, and BSB, native New Yorker PJ Jacobsen will be returning to race on US soil. Jacobsen will pilot a Yamaha YZF-R6 in the 2019 MotoAmerica Supersport Series for the collaborative HSBK and Celtic Racing team.
“I want to thank HSBK and Celtic racing for this opportunity. I’m ready to get started with them right away, and I’m looking forward to a solid year with them. We are all very motivated and ready to do what we can, and believe we can achieve great things.” – PJ Jacobsen #99.
“For the 2019 MotoAmerica season, I am very excited to be working with PJ Jacobsen on the Celtic/HSBK Yamaha R6. The opportunity to work with a rider with the talent and desire of PJ is always an exciting prospect. I have watched PJ race for many seasons but never worked with him directly, so I am eager to get this project started. Having known and seen the quality programs Barry from Celtic Racing and Bobby from HSBK Racing have put together independently over the years I expect the two of them joining forces will only make for a stronger team and better program.” – Scott Jensen, Celtic/HSBK Racing Crew Cheif.
“I’m excited to get back and show we have what it takes to run up front right away in a new class. We chose the R6 because we feel it is the most competitive 600 right now. Our team has been busy building customer race bikes this past year, but it’s time for us to get back to racing,” – Bobby Shek of HSBK Racing.
“Happy to be back racing after five years away. I have a good working relationship with Bobby and HSBK Racing, and it made sense to join forces. We have put together a strong team to go after the Supersport Championship in 2019.” – Barry Gilsenan of Celtic Racing.
