The average street rider may not give much thought to the technology that goes into the manufacturing process of today’s sportbike tire. Of course, the name of the game is traction. With only two tires connecting you to mother Earth, the ability of your rubber to keep you grounded is a major concern… and rightfully so. Following closely behind in the grip department are the durability and handling factors. Giving thought to these elements and the process under which they are manifested into a road tire, one can gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for all things tire. Or, you can simply fit a new pair of shoes on your machine and put in some laps to achieve the desired level of enlightenment. That is exactly what Bridgestone had us do at the launch event for their new Battlax Racing R11 tire.
