Josh Hayes is set to compete in the 82nd running of the Daytona 200, teaming up with CSU One Cure aboard the Yamaha YZF-R6. The partnership pairs his bid for the podium with a fundraising push for cancer research.
Josh Hayes is the winningest rider in American Roadracing history. Racing for CSU One Cure puts that record behind a cause: the organization funds cancer research in humans and pets alike, and the CSU One Cure Yamaha YZF-R6 carries that message into the race. Money raised goes toward clinical trials at the Flint Animal Cancer Center.
In 2023, Hayes finished third in MotoAmerica’s Supersport championship, with two wins and eight podium finishes. His 2024 racing plans are still unsettled, but Hayes’s passion for the sport hasn’t gone anywhere — Daytona could be the start of whatever comes next.
Hayes says he’s trained for Daytona the way he used to train as a factory Superbike racer. “I’ve taken my training very seriously this winter,” he says. It shows in how seriously he’s treating the cause riding alongside him.
Support for the effort goes beyond the racetrack. Dr. Christine Hardy of One Cure says awareness and funding are what move cancer research forward. The Pierce Family, The Trails Preservation Alliance, J4orce Training, and other sponsors are backing Hayes both on and off the track.
