Honda has pulled the covers off the 2025 Honda CB1000 Hornet SP, a welcomed addition to its U.S. naked-bike segment. Aggressive, pure, and unapologetically sporty, the Honda CB1000 Hornet SP arrives to captivate and engage riders addicted to adrenaline, precision, and style.
2025 Honda CB1000 Hornet SP Components
Under the 4.5-gallon tank of the Honda CB1000 Hornet SP is a 1,000cc, liquid-cooled four-cylinder engine derived from the legendary 2017 CBR1000RR Fireblade. Tuned for a robust low-to-midrange punch coupled with exhilarating top-end delivery, the engine features throttle-by-wire technology and an RC exhaust valve. Complementing this powerplant is an optimized six-speed transmission, featuring revised gear ratios designed to maximize acceleration and an adjustable quick shifter that facilitates seamless gear changes. An assist/slipper clutch further enhances rideability by smoothing out aggressive downshifts, making spirited riding both manageable and enjoyable.
The twin-spar steel frame positions the weight forward, boosting agility by lowering yaw inertia. Honda’s employment of pro-link suspension components includes a fully adjustable 41mm Showa SFF-BP inverted fork set up in the front and an Öhlins TTX36 at the rear.
The motorcycle rides confidently on lightweight aluminum wheels inspired by the Fireblade, wrapped in 120/70-ZR17 front and 180/55-ZR17 rear tires. Braking power comes from top-tier Brembo components, with dual 320mm floating front rotors gripped by Brembo GP4-RX CNC-machined four-piston calipers, completed by a single Nissin rear caliper with a 240mm disc.
There are three ride modes—Road, Sport, and Rain—each providing a tailored experience regarding power delivery, traction control, and engine braking. Personal customization is available through two additional user-defined modes, allowing riders to fine-tune the motorcycle’s dynamic characteristics to their specific preferences or riding scenarios.
2025 Honda CB1000 Hornet SP Styling
The Honda CB1000 Hornet SP features a strategically elevated seat combined with a flatter Moto Bar handlebar on a riser to offer comfort and control during both aggressive cornering and relaxed rides.
Leading the Honda CB1000 Hornet SP’s aesthetic is a pair of compact twin LED projector headlights, coupled with a sculpted fuel tank and minimalistic tail design that accentuates its sporty attitude. The stripped-back bodywork harmonizes with the blacked-out frame components, for a cohesive and stealthy presentation.
The intuitive 5-inch TFT screen features the Honda RoadSync system that provides smartphone connectivity, including on-screen turn-by-turn navigation controlled via an ergonomic four-way toggle switch.
The 2025 Honda CB1000 Hornet SP arrives in Matte Black Metallic with a starting MSRP of $10,999 and is expected to arrive in dealership in April of 2025.
