The Alpinestars SM5 MX helmet features a sleek and bold design with a definitive look and feel. The shell is a polymer blend that is composed of varying degrees of thickness at strategic points to maximize protection while remaining lightweight.
inside the helmet, you’ll find an EPS liner consisting of 5 densities, and an emergency release (ERS) system that allows for safe and fast removal of the cheek pads without removal of the helmet. Externally, the SM5 features a raised padded area on the bottom edge to offer protection where the helmet would come into contact with the collarbone. The venting system is comprehensive with air intake ports at and below the visor, as well as at the chin.
Two other features include the Alpinestars visor release system that allows for quick removal of the visor in the event of a crash and the loops at the bottom of the cheek pads that hold a hydration hose.
