3X Champion Jorge Lorenzo signs with Honda.

Lorenzo joins his countryman,  Marc Marquez at Repsol Honda.

After his win at Mugello, three-time World Champion Jorge Lorenzo has announced that he has signed with Repsol Honda, joining four-time World Champion Marc Marquez and replacing the recently departed Dani Pedrosa. There was initial speculation that Repsol was going to sign the reigning World Superbike Champion, Jonathan Rea but this announcement puts that rumor to bed. The Spaniard will finish his two-year contract with the Ducati factory team that began in 2017. Lorenzo will join the Repsol Honda team, his third manufacturer in the premier class, in 2019 and remain under contract through 2020.
