The Red Bull Grand Prix of Australia will headline MotoGP’s first races in Adelaide, scheduled for November 12 to 14, 2027. MotoGP announced a multi-year agreement that makes Red Bull the title sponsor of the Australian round, and the partnership continues in 2028.
Red Bull Grand Prix of Australia: What the Deal Covers
According to MotoGP, Red Bull will be title sponsor of the Australian Grand Prix, which gives the round its new name. The agreement runs through 2027 and 2028, and MotoGP says it will bring fan experiences, city-wide activations and entertainment throughout race week.
Red Bull is already deep in the paddock. Its KTM partnership was renewed this summer to run into the 2027 rules era, and MotoGP says this deal builds on Red Bull’s commitment to supporting the next generation of riders.
This is not Red Bull’s first title on a MotoGP round. SBI’s 2023 form guide covered the Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas, so the Red Bull Grand Prix of Australia joins an existing naming habit. What is new is the setting, a city-centre weekend that has never been run before.
MotoGP says Red Bull’s long-term commitment will help establish the event as a flagship fixture on the calendar, for fans from across Australia and around the world.
Carlos Ezpeleta, MotoGP’s Deputy CEO, called Australia “one of MotoGP’s most passionate and important markets.” South Australia’s Premier, Peter Malinauskas, called Red Bull’s arrival “a massive coup for South Australia.”

Red Bull Grand Prix of Australia: The Adelaide Street Circuit
The 4.13 km, 15-corner circuit reimagines Adelaide’s Formula One street layout. It revives Stag Corner, Rundle Road, Brewery Bend and Dequetteville Terrace, and the $96 million project was unveiled by Malinauskas on August 31. MotoGP describes it as its first city-centre race.
Adelaide replaces Phillip Island, which held the Australian round for nearly 30 consecutive years. MotoGP says the new layout brings the championship to the heart of one of Australia’s leading event destinations, and Malinauskas says the state is gearing up for an incredible first race.
The circuit sits on streets that once hosted Formula One in Adelaide, so the city is not starting from scratch. Those famous corners carry the history, and the Red Bull Grand Prix of Australia pairs them with Red Bull’s race-week programme of activations and entertainment across the city.
Red Bull Grand Prix of Australia and the 2027 Calendar
The race is round 21 of 22 on the 2027 calendar, making it the penultimate weekend of the year, with Valencia closing the season on November 28. The weekend runs Friday through Sunday, with the race on November 14.
That slot matters. MotoGP’s announcement says the event will be a dramatic backdrop as championship battles reach their climax, and it arrives in the first season under the new technical rules. SBI’s look at the 2027 calendar covered the full 22-round schedule, including the new Buenos Aires round.
For riders and teams, the Red Bull Grand Prix of Australia follows Malaysia and Indonesia in the autumn run. A new street layout late in the year gives the championship a fresh stage, and riders will have one weekend to learn it before the title fights move to Valencia.

Red Bull Grand Prix of Australia: Looking Ahead to 2027 and 2028
Red Bull’s name now runs through 2028, which gives Adelaide a second year to build on the first. If the Red Bull Grand Prix of Australia lands the way MotoGP describes it, a city-centre round becomes a template that other host cities can study.
That is the larger story here. Phillip Island gave MotoGP a rider’s circuit for three decades, and Adelaide gives the sport a festival in the middle of a city. By November 2027, the Red Bull Grand Prix of Australia will show how far MotoGP can take that idea.
