Marc Marquez, the eight-time World Champion, is set to join the Factory Ducati Lenovo Team alongside Francesco Bagnaia, replacing Enea Bastianini starting next season. Ducati Corse has confirmed they have reached a two-year agreement with Marquez, who will ride red until 2026.
Luigi Dall’Igna, General Manager of Ducati Corse, expressed his gratitude towards Enea Bastianini and Jorge Martín for their contributions over the years and wished them success in their future endeavors. Given the pool of talented riders, he acknowledged the difficulty in choosing Bagnaia’s new teammate. Ultimately, his exceptional talent and rapid adaptation to the Desmosedici GP influenced the decision to bring Marquez into the factory team. Dall’Igna highlighted that having two riders with a combined 11 World Titles in the box would be invaluable for Ducati’s growth and development.
Marc Marquez, excited about the move, shared his enthusiasm for joining the factory Ducati team. From his initial ride on the Desmosedici GP, he enjoyed the experience and adapted quickly, fueling his ambition to continue growing and eventually join the World Champion team. He expressed gratitude towards Ducati for placing their trust in him and thanked the Gresini Racing family for their support during a challenging period in his career. Marquez emphasized his commitment to finishing the current season strong with Gresini Racing before making the transition.
