The Honda 2025 Trail125 is a modern tribute to the legendary CT series, merging retro aesthetics with contemporary technology to deliver a lightweight, versatile machine that’s equally at home on city streets or forest trails. Drawing inspiration from the original Honda Trail 90 and Trail 110, this latest iteration continues the brand’s tradition of producing small, durable, and adventure-ready motorcycles.

Honda’s Trail series has a storied past, dating back to 1960 when Idaho dealer Herb Uhl modified Honda’s step-through 50cc motorcycles for rugged mountain terrain. The resulting CA100T Trail 50 became an instant hit, paving the way for the CT series that spanned decades and amassed a devoted following. After a long hiatus, the modernized Trail125 made its debut in 2021, and now, Honda is continuing that legacy with the Honda 2025 Trail125, which retains the spirit of its predecessors while incorporating cutting-edge features for enhanced performance and reliability.

At the heart of the Honda 2025 Trail125 is a fuel-efficient 124cc air-cooled, 80 degrees single-cylinder four-stroke engine. Borrowing the bottom end from the Japanese-market C110 and the top end from the Honda Grom, this setup ensures smooth, usable power throughout the rev range. The bore and stroke measure 50.0mm and 63.1mm respectively, with a compression ratio of 10.0:1. Honda’s state-of-the-art programmed fuel injection (PGM-FI) enhances efficiency and reliability, while an automatic enrichment system guarantees easy starts in all weather conditions. A re-tuned intake, updated exhaust, and a three-tooth-larger rear sprocket (38 teeth) optimize the Honda 2025 Trail125 for low-end torque, making it well-suited for both urban commuting and light off-road exploration.

The Honda 2025 Trail125 maintains the unmistakable styling of its forebears, with a high-mounted air intake, upswept muffler, large rear cargo rack, and a robust steel front fender. A 3-D emblem of the original Honda wing logo pays homage to the bike’s heritage, while a drop-shadow Honda logo reminiscent of the classic CT series adorns the side covers. The updated exhaust system, while retaining its traditional outward appearance, features modern internals, including a single catalytic converter to improve emissions efficiency. Honda has also refined the bike’s ECU programming to maximize performance and fuel economy.

A four-speed semi-automatic transmission eliminates the need for a clutch lever, making gear changes seamless and intuitive. A helical primary gear minimizes mechanical noise, while high-quality shift-drum bearings and optimized clutch-damper materials enhance shift precision and durability. The Honda 2025 Trail125 boasts a sturdy yet lightweight frame with a 49.5-inch wheelbase, 4.3 inches of front suspension travel, and 6.5 inches of ground clearance. The 31.5-inch seat height provides a comfortable, upright riding position, and the fuel tank holds 1.4 gallons.

For added protection, an engine guard shields against rocks and debris, ensuring durability on rugged trails. The electronic system includes a 190-watt generator, LED lighting, and square turn signals reminiscent of the original CT models.

With an MSRP of $4,099, the Honda 2025 Trail125 is an affordable gateway to adventure. Available in striking Glowing Red and Pearl Smoky Gray color options, this bike pays homage to Honda’s trail-riding heritage while embracing modern advancements offering a compelling mix of history, innovation, and practicality.
