The 2025 BMW S 1000 RR is a tribute bike of sorts, with design cues straight from the O.G. S 1000 RR which made its debut in 2009. But the S 1000 RR has come a long way since it first rolled onto the asphalt. The asymmetrical design incorporates a large exit opening on the left side for efficient heat dissipation, while the right side showcases a dynamic gill design. The shark gills are back!

BMW has re-engineered the winglets of the S 1000 RR to generate more downforce with an increase from 37.7 lbs to 50.9 lbs at 186 mph, improving straight-line stability and front-wheel grip. In harmony with the new winglets is a newly designed vented front fender that features integrated brake cooling ducts. The optimized airflow around the forks and brake calipers reduces brake temperatures, boosting brake performance with consistency.

The new M Quick-Action Throttle, borrowed from the M 1000 RR, reduces the throttle rotation angle from 72 degrees to 58 degrees, allowing for more responsive and relaxed throttle control without the need to reposition the hand.

The 2025 BMW S 1000 RR now comes standard with Pro Riding Modes: Rain, Road, Dynamic, Race, and three additional Race Pro modes. Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) continues to provide four fixed settings corresponding to the standard riding modes, with fine-tuning available in the Race Pro modes. Adjustable wheelie control, engine braking settings, Hill Start Control Pro, (an automatic holding function when stopping on inclines greater than 5%) and other features compose a premium rider aid and electronics package. ABS Pro offers five levels of adjustability in the Race Pro modes and a special Slick setting designed for use with slick tires on the track. The Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) system prevents unintentional throttle activation during hard braking.

Inside, the new S 1000 RR is powered by a 999cc inline-four engine, which produces 205 horsepower at 13,000 rpm and 83 lb-ft of torque at 11,000 rpm. Suspension duty falls upon a pair of 45mm upside adjustable front forks with an adjustable central rear shock. The braking department includes twin 320mm front rotors mated with four-piston fixed calipers on the front and a single 220mm rotor with a two-piston fixed caliper on the back end.
