The Aprilia Tuono 457 breaks new ground with a target lock on the younger riders. Borrowing heavily from the design and aesthetics of its older siblings, the 457’s fuel tank has been reshaped, and the wide handlebars offer control and a sporty riding position. At 31 inches high, the saddle is narrow at the sides, allowing for easy foot-to-ground connectivity. The minimal fairings expose the 457 cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine and twin-spar aluminum frame. Engine performance output is a manageable 48 horses at 9,400 rpm and 32 foot pounds of torque at 6,200 rpm. Tipping the scales at 351 pounds, Aprilia sets a new bar for power-to-weight ratio.

The suspension setup of the 457 includes a set of 41 mm front forks with preload adjustment and 120 mm of travel. At the rear, an asymmetrical steel swingarm is paired with a preload-adjustable shock, offering 130 mm of travel.

The Tuono 457 rides on 17-inch wheels with 110/70 front and 150/60 rear tires. Braking performance is entrusted to ByBre calipers, with a radial-mounted front caliper gripping a 320 mm steel disc and a rear caliper managing a 220 mm disc.

Aprilia has equipped the Tuono 457 with a collection of rider aids. A Ride-by-Wire throttle system offers three distinct riding modes: ECO mode provides smooth power delivery with medium-level traction control, making it ideal for daily commuting and fuel efficiency; SPORT mode delivers immediate throttle response with reduced traction control for a more dynamic and engaging ride; RAIN mode provides safety on wet or slippery surfaces by offering gentle power delivery along with maximum traction control. The on-the-fly Aprilia Traction Control (ATC) system allows you to personalize the traction control’s level of engagement. The two-channel Bosch ABS can be set to either both wheels or front wheel only, with the option to disable the rear ABS.

The optional Aprilia Quick Shift (AQS) system enables seamless gear changes without using the clutch or closing the throttle. Smartphone connectivity is made available via the Aprilia MIA system that displays info directly on the 457’s 5-inch TFT dash, including route tracking and telemetry data.

The $6,599 Aprilia Tuono 457 arrives in Piranha Red and Puma Gray, with an expected landing date of April 2025.
