The 2025 Triumph Speed Twin 1200 ($13,595.00 MSRP) and Speed Twin 1200 RS ($15,995.00 MSRP) are designed as a modern classic that balances performance with everyday usability. A minimalistic design philosophy allows the bikes’ engineering excellence to blaze. The compact silencers and uninterrupted exhaust run accentuate the bike’s muscular profile, while the new cast aluminum wheels and refined bodywork create a solid first impression.

Inside the tubular steel frame, a 1200cc 1200cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine delivers 103.5 horses at 7,750 rpm with a max torque output of 112 Nm available at 4,250 rpm. The Triumph Shift Assist is featured on the Speed Twin 1200 RS, marking the first time this bi-directional quick-shifter for clutchless upshifts and downshifts is included in Triumph’s Modern Classic lineup.

The suspension systems of the 476-pound (wet) Speed Twin 1200 and Speed Twin 1200 RS models feature 43mm upside-down Marzocchi forks with a wheel travel of 120 mm. However, while the Speed Twin 1200 has non-adjustable forks, the Speed Twin 1200 RS has fully adjustable settings for preload, compression, and rebound damping. In the rear, the Speed Twin 1200 has twin Marzocchi RSUs with external reservoirs and adjustable preload, offering 116 mm of wheel travel. The Speed Twin 1200 RS has twin Öhlins RSUs with external reservoirs that are fully adjustable for preload, compression, and rebound damping, along with a slightly increased wheel travel of 123 mm compared to the standard Twin 1200.

Both models feature twin 320 mm floating discs front brakes. The base Twin 1200 employs Triumph-branded four-piston radial calipers and Optimized Cornering ABS (OCABS) for enhanced safety. The Speed Twin 1200 RS upgrades to Brembo Stylema M4.30 radial calipers and also incorporates OCABS. Both models share a rear braking system with a 220 mm fixed disc and a Nissin two-piston floating caliper.

The Speed Twin 1200 and Speed Twin 1200 RS feature 17-inch cast aluminum alloy wheels fitted with Metzeler tires: Sportec M9RR tires grip the road for the base Twin 1200, while the Speed Twin 1200 RS comes equipped with Metzeler Racetec RR K3 tires.

The Speed Twin 1200 features two riding modes: Road and Rain. The Speed Twin 1200 RS adds Sport mode, which provides sharper throttle response and optimizes traction control.

A new LCD and TFT display is elegantly encased within a classic circular instrument dial, maintaining the timeless aesthetic while improving visibility and functionality. This display supports turn-by-turn navigation and phone connectivity and conveniently includes a concealed USB-C charging socket.

The handlebars of the Speed Twin 1200 are higher and positioned further forward than in the previous model, resulting in a more upright and comfortable riding position. The Speed Twin 1200 RS maintains the same height as its predecessor but shifts further forward, which enhances a more engaged and sporty posture. The footpegs also reflect these differences, with the Speed Twin 1200’s pegs designed for a balanced and comfortable ride, while the pegs on the Speed Twin 1200 RS are raised and located further back, allowing for improved ground clearance and a more aggressive riding stance, creating a Rider triangle. Additionally, the seat height on the Speed Twin 1200 is 805 mm, whereas the Speed Twin 1200 RS has a seat height of 810 mm—5 mm higher—thanks to the raised rear of the bike, contributing to the overall riding dynamics.
