Can-Am announced its return to the two-wheel sector in August of 2022, with the reveal of launching an electric motorcycle lineup to cover the versatile needs of today’s riders. Two years later, Can-Am presents the 2025 Can-Am Pulse. Designed with the energy of city life in mind, the Pulse combines agility, innovation, and advanced technology to create a facilitating riding experience.
“Today, we are reclaiming our two-wheel heritage by bringing new excitement to the electric motorcycle industry. 50 years ago, Can-Am celebrated many victories with its Track ’n Trail motorcycles, and we are bringing that pedigree back with a focus on modern electric power, connectivity and thrill. We intend to become a global leader in that space with true innovation designed to simplify the riding experience for new riders and introduce electric motorcycles to all.” – José Boisjoli, President and CEO of BRP.
The Pulse is powered by a ROTAX E-POWER motor, delivering a power output of 47 hp and a torque of 53 lb-ft, capped with a top speed of 80 mph and an acceleration of 0-60 mph in just 3.8 seconds. The integrated lithium-ion battery holds a capacity of 8.9 kWh, with a liquid-cooled system ensuring efficient thermal management. Riders can expect a city range of up to 100 miles and a combined range of 80 miles, with quick charging times of 50 minutes to 80% on Level 2 (240 V) and 3 hours 10 minutes on Level 1 (120 V). The Pulse’s Passive and Active ReGen system further enhances battery life by offering smooth deceleration and giving more power back to the battery.
The Can-Am Pulse’s low center of gravity and ride height contribute to a stable and confident ride. At the same time, its four riding modes (Normal, Sport+, ECO, and Rain) allow for adaptability in various conditions.
The chassis features a single-sided swingarm, KYB 41 mm inverted forks, and a SACHS twin-tube coil-over shock. The braking system employs a J.Juan 2-piston caliper and a single 320 mm disc brake at the front, while a single-piston caliper and 240 mm disc handles the business in the rear. An innovative chain case with an automatic tensioner keeps the chain protected and lubricated.
Take note of the Pulse’s 10.25-inch touchscreen display, which integrates seamlessly with Apple CarPlay and the BRP GO! App.
With its stylish and modern design, the Pulse features a low-slung profile and bold graphics in Bright White or Carbon Black colorways. For those seeking an extra touch of nostalgia, the optional “Pulse 73” trim pays homage to Can-Am’s motorcycling heritage. This special edition features LED lighting, a LinQ gauge spoiler, and distinctive paint and badging that celebrate the brand’s storied past.
Pre-orders for the Can-Am Pulse are now being accepted at authorized dealerships with a delivery time range of early 2025.
