MotoGP returns to the US with the confirmation of the US Red Bull GP of the Americas in Austin, Texas.
The US Red Bull GP of the Americas in Austin, Texas will take place over the weekend of October 1 through 3, 2021 at the Circuit of the Americas. The confirmation was announced by FIM, IRTA and Dorna Sports after the confirmed cancellation of the Motul Grand Prix of Japan and the postponement of the OR Grand Prix of Thailand which is now scheduled for the 15th to the 17th of October.
Covid restrictions and complications prevented Japan from securing a spot on the 2021 MotoGP calendar, opening a slot for the US round to fill. The US Red Bull GP of the Americas was officially canceled in 2020 and previously postponed for this season, although it remained on the 2021 MotoGP calendar.
At the time of publishing, no information was available pertaining to spectator participation or restrictions in Austin. However, the Circuit of the Americas’ official website will begin ticket sales in July.
