Last week, the internet and social media were abuzz with rumors that Suzuki was ending the run of their flagship hyperbike, the  Suzuki GSX-1300R Hayabusa. SBI reached out to Suzuki Motor of America during the storm of rumors and allegations for a comment or clarification. We were told to sit tight, as an official statement would soon arrive.

Today, Suzuki issued a press release confirming that US production of the Hayabusa would continue. In fact, dealer orders for the 2019 Hayabusa have already been received by Suzuki. The statement also clarified that it is the production of European specification Hayabusa models that have been discontinued because of Euro 4 emission regulations.

That missing detail designating that the “Euro-spec” version of the Hayabusa will no longer be produced sent the bike world into a tizzy.

So, to recap:
US production of the Suzuki GSX-1300R continues, uninterrupted.
Euro spec production of the Suzuki GSX-1300R is discontinued.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled program.

The 2019 Suzuki Hayabusa.
