The first-ever Spirit of Sturgis TT is scheduled for August 11, 2024. This event is poised to bring a new dimension to motorcycle racing, building on the city’s rich racing legacy that dates back to 1938. The Spirit of Sturgis TT is a joint venture between AMA Pro Racing, Øuterkind, and the City of Sturgis. It will be essential to the 2024 Progressive American Flat Track schedule. The event is set to coincide with the final Sunday of the 84th Annual City of Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

This event takes place in downtown Sturgis and features a unique course that combines street and dirt sections, providing an exciting experience for the public at no cost. Gene Crouch, the CEO of AMA Pro Racing, stresses the importance of the event, stating, “The Spirit of Sturgis TT is not just a race; it’s a tribute to the enduring legacy of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, blending tradition with innovation”
Ben Keane, Partner at Øuterkind, adds, “The inaugural Spirit of Sturgis TT race is an embodiment of our agency’s commitment to delivering an exceptional motorsports experience within the world’s most iconic motorcycle rally.”
Inspired by hybrid racing courses like the DAYTONA TT and Atlanta Super TT, the Spirit of Sturgis TT offers an unmatched racing experience. The challenging 0.5-mile circuit, which includes the legendary Main Street, starts and finishes at the iconic Harley-Davidson Rally Point. The race features Progressive AFT’s Mission SuperTwins and Parts Unlimited Singles, presented by KICKER.
The upcoming event will introduce a new AFT AdventureTrackers class, which will showcase the latest Adventure Bikes based on production models and highlight the growing segment of the industry. This class is in line with Sturgis’ tradition of supporting the future of motorcycling. It has generated much interest among manufacturers, leading to speculation about the possibility of high-profile entries.
