No GP for the Twin Ring Motegi Circuit

“It is with great sadness that we announce the cancellation of the Motul Grand Prix of Japan at the very unique Motegi circuit, meaning we will not have a Japanese Grand Prix on the calendar for the first time since 1986.” – Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna Sports.

The Corona Virus strikes again. This time, the victim is the Motul Grand Prix of Japan that was scheduled for the weekend of October 16 through 18 at the Twin Ring Motegi Circuit.

The Twin Ring Motegi Circuit has been a part of the GP calendar since 1999 and the home GP race for Honda, Yamaha, and Suzuki. The cancellation of the 2020 Grand Prix of Japan will mark the first time that a Japanese GP has not been on the schedule since 1986.
