AMA Pro Racing Names Bryan Smith as the Series Director of Progressive American Flat Track.
AMA Pro Racing welcomes Bryan Smith as the Series Director of Progressive American Flat Track, transitioning from his current position as the director of Industry Relations.
In this new position, Bryan Smith will take on a new leadership role where he is tasked with managing all facets of Progressive AFT, such as setting the season calendar, event planning and operations, safety protocols, and track preparation in addition to developing series rules. Additionally, he will manage rider-team relationships while evaluating potential new riders.
“Over the last year, Bryan has consistently demonstrated the leadership capabilities that are necessary to take on even greater responsibilities with the series. Bryan’s ability to leverage the knowledge he’s gained over the course of his motorcycle racing career as both a factory rider and championship-winning privateer will also be critically important as we form future strategies for the sport.” – Gene Crouch, CEO of AMA Pro Racing.
After decades of being one of the top competitors in AMA Pro Racing, including winning the 2016 Grand National Champion, and a factory seat at both Harley-Davidson and Indian Motorcycle, Bryan Smith has garnered the experience and knowledge of the sport of Flat Track Racing that will serve him better than well in his new role.
“When I joined the Progressive AFT management team a year ago, I said my goals were to give back to the sport and see it grow. That’s even more true today. I’m encouraged by what we’ve accomplished already, and I’m excited to embrace this new opportunity to create an even greater impact. I feel certain we’re on the right path to take the sport to the next level.” – Bryan Smith.
The highly-anticipated return of DAYTONA Short Track I & II at Daytona International Speedway is scheduled for March 9th and 10th and officially kicks off the 2023 AFT season. Tickets are available HERE.
