American Flat Track 2026: Redefining the Championship Landscape

The American Flat Track 2026 season is locked and loaded with a 16-round campaign that doubles down on the momentum of its thrilling 2025 predecessor. AMA Pro Racing has unveiled a schedule that blends tradition with innovation—reaffirming the sport’s commitment to Class C values while introducing fresh venues, new racing classes, and a strategic roadmap for developing the next generation of talent.

Launching during the ever-iconic DAYTONA Bike Week, the season kicks off on March 5 with the Royal Enfield Short Track at Daytona I, followed by another night of racing on March 6. This back-to-back opener at Daytona International Speedway sets the tone for a season rich in both history and high horsepower. Notably, the opening round is preceded by the inaugural Mission Foods CTR Showcase Event, a cornerstone of the newly announced Road to AFT initiative. These pre-race amateur showcases, managed by Cory Texter Race Promotions, will be held ahead of seven select Nationals throughout the season. They aim to bridge the talent gap between amateur and pro, providing a tangible ladder system that anchors the sport’s future.

Gene Crouch, CEO of AMA Pro Racing, emphasizes the significance of this realignment: “The Road to AFT reestablishes the critical link between amateur and pro, reinvigorating the feeder system for the professional ranks. The introduction of AFT StreetTrackers will open marketing lanes for the motorcycle industry to invest in the sport with clear, measurable ROI.”

American Flat Track 2026: New Classes, New Energy

The American Flat Track 2026 calendar marks the return of the AFT AdventureTrackers class with an expanded slate, bolstered by its immediate success and widespread manufacturer support. More notably, 2026 will introduce the all-new AFT StreetTrackers category. Drawing inspiration from the Class C legacy, this production-based class centers around lightly modified twins, triples, and four-cylinder machines, creating a direct retail connection for manufacturers and a grassroots pathway for local dealerships to participate.

This focus on accessibility and engagement is more than a throwback—it’s a redefinition. “The 2026 schedule will be a showcase for what the sport truly is: the authentic American motorcycle racing product built on Class C values—approachability, availability, and affordability,” added Crouch.

Beyond the class expansions, the 2026 schedule highlights include the return of staple events such as the Lima Half-Mile doubleheader and the legendary Peoria TT, alongside new additions that promise to energize the paddock and spectators alike. Budds Creek Motocross Park will host ThrottleFest on May 16—a four-day moto/music fusion experience with AFT headlining a lineup of pro-am hair scrambles, pit bike races, and more.

Just weeks later, on June 6, American Flat Track returns to Tennessee for the first time in years with the Nashville Short Track at Billy Lane’s Tennessee National Raceway. This event will also feature the debut of the Northern Tool + Equipment Legends Build: Student Challenge, where high school CTE students unveil a transformed Harley-Davidson Nightster, mentored by flat track legends like Scott Parker and Chris Carr.

American Flat Track 2026: The Full Season Breakdown

The American Flat Track 2026 season features a strategic mix of Short Tracks, Half-Miles, Miles, and TT events. Notably, the Triple Challenge format—first introduced in 2025—returns, adding endurance and tactical depth with increasing race lengths and escalating points. Fans can look forward to the first Triple Challenge showdown during Lima Half-Mile I on June 26, with another round at Springfield Mile I on September 5.

Closing the season is the Springfield Mile doubleheader on September 5 and 6, reestablishing this hallowed event as the Grand National Championship decider. From coast to coast, the calendar reflects a deeper focus on heritage, regional diversity, and fan experience.

Each of the 16 rounds is primed to showcase not just rider skill and machine performance, but also the evolving identity of American Flat Track as it charges into a new era of relevance and reach.
