KTM’s 2025 lineup introduces the 2025 KTM 390 SMC R. With a solid mix of performance, versatility, and cutting-edge technology, the 390 SMC R is designed to offer you an experience that’s ready for the track and ready for the streets.
Under the 2.37-gallon fuel tank, 2025 KTM 390 SMC R has a completely redesigned LC4c engine that continues KTM’s legacy of producing lightweight, powerful single-cylinder engines. The new powerplant is optimized for performance, offering quick throttle response and impressive fuel efficiency. KTM has made significant strides in engine durability, reducing weight and increasing reliability with new service intervals. The engine also incorporates a newly optimized exhaust system that improves the bike’s weight distribution and emissions compliance.
The KTM 390 SMC R’s engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox, optimized for smoother shifts and quicker responses. You’ll appreciate the inclusion of a Power Assisted Slipper Clutch, which makes for a more manageable ride when cornering or braking hard. The addition of an optional Quickshifter+ system gives you even more control, allowing for faster shifts without using the clutch.
Designed with off-road and track racing in mind, the 2025 KTM 390 SMC R features a revamped suspension system employing 43mm WP APEX open cartridge front forks with 230mm of travel, giving you greater suspension capability for supermoto-style riding. The rear suspension is also handled by a WP APEX shock absorber, providing an additional 230mm of travel.
The 2025 KTM 390 SMC R’s chassis incorporates a two-piece steel trellis frame that enhances handling while offering a rugged design fit for aggressive riding. The frame’s geometry has been specifically engineered to improve stability at high speeds and cornering precision.
The 2025 KTM 390 SMC R is equipped with 17” wheels wrapped in Michelin Power 6 tires, designed to offer superior grip and control. The front features a 320mm radial brake, while the rear is fitted with a 240mm single-piston brake.
The 2025 KTM 390 SMC R comes loaded with advanced rider aids, including selectable Ride Modes that cater to different riding preferences. The default mode is STREET, but for those looking for enhanced cornering capabilities, the SPORT mode provides an even more responsive throttle connection. The Motorcycle Traction Control (MTC) can also be switched off for those who prefer more manual control.
Another highlight of the 390 SMC R is its dual-channel ABS, complete with Bosch 10.3MB Modulator. Riders can also choose between Road, Supermoto, or Supermoto+ ABS in SPORT mode, offering customization for various riding conditions. For added convenience, the bike features a 4.2-inch TFT dashboard, optimized for better visibility and displaying all essential information like speed, fuel level, and gear indicators.
The KTM Connect App allows for Bluetooth connectivity, enabling riders to control their music, answer calls, and even navigate turn-by-turn directions directly from the dashboard, ensuring that every ride is not only thrilling but also fully connected.
The 2025 KTM 390 SMC R, presented with a KTM CTG design set in resilient in-mold graphics will be available in quarter one of 2025.
